An Agent of Change

Real estate agents get a bad rap.  I've heard it for years that they rank right up
there, or down, with white shoe wearing used car salesmen.....or your ambulance
chasing attorney.  I guess I have to agree in large part.  I've been a part of that
"fraternity" for nearly 30 years and I've seen some real dandies.  But my partner,
Laura Sherry, is a stand out.  I would like to share a little story about her
commitment to buyers.

She recently represented some great young first time home buyers who were
veterans of this great country.  They were working with a VA loan and things went
petty well.  They were in the midst of buying a home that was built in 1910 but nicely
renovated.  Nonetheless, there was an outbuilding that the appraiser, by VA
standards, had to be scrapped of old paint and repainted.

That meant that the buyers, Sean and Erin Lenahan, had to do all the sweat equity
redo on that project.  But in this entire process they were not alone.  I pitched in of
course because Laura is my partner and Sean and Erin are great friends but it is not
often the selling agent will get it there and get the job done for their clients in
EVERY WAY.

The Lenahans employed Erin's Dad, Larry, to put on gutters with great friend,
Jason, and they went about doing what had to be done on the old garage.  That
meant scrapping all the old paint, priming it and then completely repainting the
garage.  It took a couple of days and the results are below.

 It never hurts to work with an agent who will literally work with you.  Think about it
next time you are thinking about buying a property.  Not all agents are created
equally.  No doubt, this might not happen with ever deal for Laura or myself for that
matter: we had a special connections with a great young couple we wanted to help
in any way we could.
