Montana Weather

The old saying in Montana is that if you don't like the weather, stick around an hour and it's bound to change.  That can really be true because the Big Sky really is big and weather systems move in and out of vast expanses.

Ski Montana

Montana has great snow and the best snow in the state is arguably at Lost Trail Powder Mountain in the southern end of the Bitterroot Valley on the Montana-Idaho border.  In fact, at Lost Trail you can ski in both states depending on which lift you take and which slopes you are skiing.

I recently had a birthday and my son, who was visiting from Hawaii, treated me to a day of skiing Montana!

Montana Stream Access Law

There are a lot of perks living in Big Sky Country.  On of those great perks is being able to recreate on the state's rivers and streams.  The state legislature made a great move in securing access to treasured fishing and floating for the public through the 1985 Montana Stream Access Law.  The law has been controversial in some instances and even an issue in this years gubernatorial race, if I believe the political ads.

A Bear of A Play Ground In Montana's Play Ground

I had the great pleasure of participating in the blitz build of the Bear Mountain Play
Ground in Stevensville, Montana.  Over 700 volunteers came together over the course five days to build a wonderful place for families and children to meet and play in Lewis and Clark Park.  The transformation in those few days was incredible.
