Lolo Highlights

- The Town of Lolo, zip code 59847 is located in Missoula County, Montana. The closest town to Missoula, only 8 miles South of Missoula. Even though Lolo is considered part of the Bitterroot it's really a suburb of the city of Missoula.

Recreation and Activities

- Lolo lies along U.S. Highway 93 at the location where Lewis and Clark headed west out of the Bitterroot Valley down what is now Highway 12 over Lolo Pass into Idaho.  Lolo is the home of Traveler's Rest State Park.  The Lolo Pass Vistor's Center is at border of Montana and Idaho where there is some of the best snowmobiling in the west.  Additionally, one can enjoy a wonderful dip at Lolo Hot Springs.

- Public education is provided by the Missoula Unified School District.

Neighborhoods

- Lolo is a young community in a very old area.  John Hayden, a local entrepreneur, built a housing development along the banks of the Bitterroot River and Lake Hayden.  Today these older residences provide terrific water front homes within a quick drive to Missoula.  There are a number of newer subdivisions within the Lolo market and some wonderful homes up Highway 12.
